Showtime back in the sports game

Ever since pay-TV network Showtime lost the rights to broadcast the English Premier League to ART some four years ago, the network lost its position in the sports programming race and its sports package was not a hot item anymore, only offering Serie A through Abu Dhabi sports.
Well, now it seems Showtime has wised up and partnered with Al Jazeera Sports who have the rights to the Spanish Primera, Portuguese Superliga, English FA Cup and other European football competitions.
So, now Showtime subscribers have got 6 sports channels (Sportsnet World, Sportsnet America, Extreme Sports, Eurosport News and Al Jazeera Sports +1 and +2)
Accordingly, advertisers on Al Jazeera’s sports channels will get more exposure across another pay-TV network.
