Possibly, an Orbit ’slam dunk’

Orbit Gets NBA

Orbit TV & Satellite Network launched NBA TV on May 7.

The network has signed a deal for exclusive broadcast rights of the NBA in the Middle East and North Africa. Orbit subscribers can watch their basketball stars on Channel 18.

Previously, the NBA had an exclusive deal with ART, whose NBA channel didn’t produce the audience figures or advertising expected.

So, can Orbit turn this move into a ’slam dunk’ with Middle East audiences, where others haven’t succeeded?

Now, this month in particular, it’s possible, with the end-of-season excitment of the live NBA play-offs.

What about afterwards?

Out with the old ….

A new year, and a new start for Kodak. The company has faced some industry shifts in the last five years, with digital cameras turning the ‘film’ industry upside down. Although Kodak has moved with the times, going digital in many aspects, it seems the management wanted something more radical.

Maybe Kodak wants to shed it’s old-school photography image and look more ‘digital age’. Gone is the orange/yellow background image, replaced by simply the word ‘Kodak’ in red.

The old logo is one of the most recognizable in the world, so it’s quite a brave move.

Check it out on Kodak’s website.
