Why the headline is not aligned center with the illustration above!!! That’s annoying !!!

  • 2. moryarti  |  August 19th, 2007 at 8:43 am

if you consider the thumb as part of the hand, then text is pretty much aligned..

Normaly we should avoid placing images on a dead center and observe the rule of thirds, however certain effects can be an excuse (like that hand) but id suppose placing the other two images at the left and right of the ad plus a text in between decreases creativity poiints and really makes the hand more like a dead center image…

Say what, EDZ? I think it would be better for us to avoid reading your comments…Sorry but I think you’re commenting in a wrong Blog, this is Advertising not Architecture .

  • 11. Edz  |  August 26th, 2007 at 11:12 pm

no kre8tive iam quite sure iam on the right blog even if i want 2 i have no background on architecture, you are free however to oppose my comments as long as ur able to substantiate ur statements…

did anybody forget the principles of “design” we studied few years ago? ifever he took them?
after all what you see here is an ad, made of an idea and shown as design, so design principles apply, of which Edz just tried to remind us some.
    guys, it’s okay no?
Now: people who felt a problem with the alignement might be “visually” right, cause of the thumb going sub-center and causing the eye to feel emptiness at that level. and here Edz (or design) principle could help if they had thought abou it.

what about going back and discussing the idea itself?

  • 13. creative rules  |  August 28th, 2007 at 3:30 pm

The ad has a nice simple idea that works.

Who cares about wether the headline is aligned or not.

  • 14. kre8tive  |  August 28th, 2007 at 3:35 pm

Who cares about whether this was done or not?

creative rules, God is in the Details !!!

  • 16. Ansaihi  |  August 30th, 2007 at 12:15 pm

you know what worries me sometimes in this kind of blogs? people start criticizing the details of the posts, and many times they forget to think about the idea, the brief, the market, etc… it reminds me only the attitude of the suits, not the creatives!
And for the duplication of ideas (heh), source of inspiration surrounding the creative people are limited (even if there are millions), and will do someday something that’s similar to what someone else did 5000 km away… it’s not your mistake alone, it’s the agency, the client, your friends, etc. How many times you killed an idea which you’re proud of, just because it’s the same (more or less) as something else?

A funny visual would be an office employee (particularly a stupid looking one) in the middle of a power blackout (he maybe holding a flashlight) looking bewildered and upset at why he’s computer screen is blank. And the headline maybe “Stop guessing. Just call us” –(actually this situation really happened to a poor call center operator who got fired after he told the caller that he’s too stupid to own a computer)

sorry typo above: he’s should be his
