I like the idea… somehow it has a meaning behide it… we need commercials that talks about how westren societies percieve the middle east nations!

however, this only works if you show it to people living in these societies or it will give a totally assure the negative perception about ME people.

  • 2. moe fara  |  February 10th, 2010 at 6:27 pm

I love the truthfulness in this ad as most young arab men who head to the states manage to seduce blondees really easy with their pery poor english..

  • 3. moe fara  |  February 10th, 2010 at 6:31 pm

hey, why do i have this feeling telling me im seeing three different options here? anyways, i like the second one better. “it’s totally cool” and “very khagag” lol

  • 4. Quick Comment  |  February 10th, 2010 at 7:26 pm

i really dont get the idea, i think the creatives thought this would be a funny sketch which it is but what is the connection with Burger King?
How does have it your way connect to this concept?

  • 5. moe fara  |  February 10th, 2010 at 8:40 pm

you are very right in some of what u said, QC. slogan has nothin to do with the ads. and have it your way, kinda sound like sprite’s slogan khalleek ala tabeetak

  • 6. kre8tive  |  February 10th, 2010 at 9:45 pm

The ‘Have It Your Way’ idea was spot on.( Funny how stupid they made out of these blonde chicks, Most of ‘em have no crap idea what ME is all about). Well… Have it their way! LOL.

Have It Your Way Is the global slogan of BK. Tonic has done some very interesting work on this brand and seem to look at BK in a very different way than your “typical” approach to fast food.

Although this made me laugh and brought back some memories (especially the “do you live in a tent?” one), I think it was more about humor than it was about selling the Whopper.

I think the talents / actors did an excellent job of portraying the Arab student in the US.

Overall I would come away from it with a positive impression because of the humor.

what do you know guys about the Middle East?
    the answer is nothing!!
If you don’t know anything about countries such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates don’t say anything.
its more sophisticated, its more richer than US US US…… and the people there having amazing life..
the Media affects in the American people…

  • 11. Ameera  |  February 13th, 2010 at 10:43 am

I agree entirely with Mr.Ahmed Qandil

+They think we are wealthy people, but ignorance and without the evolution of life and live like nomads in the deserts and nomadic

This indicates that, if anything he had shown the ignorance of what is happening around them and lack of a culture have

But did not find the person that connects them to the letter of our civilization and our country, rather, if they looked well will know that we live our lives like any other people on the globe searching for development and development will not end until the end of the human … Thank you

  • 12. amre husseini - AKA BITEME  |  February 13th, 2010 at 1:36 pm

so wait, these were actually shown in the US? lol

  • 21. May  |  February 19th, 2010 at 1:11 am

Besides the fact that it’s humorous to us Arabs, I still don’t understand how stereotypes of Middle Eastern culture have anything to do with an ad for BK.

Are they saying that believing anything, no matter how outrageous, is “having it your way” ?

  • 22. ??????  |  February 19th, 2010 at 10:32 am

  • 23. Mona  |  February 19th, 2010 at 7:28 pm

i don’t know why it is important to explain ourselves to others .. if people don’t know who are arabs or what is KSA or UAE then it is thier problem … What’s the big deal?!!!!

anyway the add was a lil bit funny but i didn’t get how it is related to BK!

    it very nice Videos

  • 27. Nouf  |  February 21st, 2010 at 11:06 pm

    lol this is funny…and sarcastic!!

But true, those r the ideas and images allot of students abroad create and send to the west…its all illusuion…

As a matter of fact, it proves the fact that the western people have very limited knowledge and thoughts of the middle east…

I say that we in the middle are very educated in terms of others’ cultures … let’s just be happy and hop horray!!!!

  • 28. hussein  |  February 22nd, 2010 at 2:43 pm

i liked the Advs, and its true i used to be oversea and they all things of Arab the same specially the OIL part hahahah
“They really don’t know who we are ” and still we like to copy them and do what we not supposed to do!

  • 31. yasser.sh  |  February 23rd, 2010 at 10:23 am

I like the way how he looks at her and tell her she’s ” 7′aggag” while she was just trying to imagine the deal of exchanging the Oil with a BK Whooper, Lol

    keep going guys, nice ad

  • 32. AdGuy  |  February 23rd, 2010 at 7:02 pm

although there is a good sense of humor in this ad campaign, but it has nothing to do with the brand or product. It doesn’t clearly convey the message, and I believe that it was tailored to the wrong market.

I could “maybe” see this work for some sort of beverage, but a fast food joint… Not sure if it was the best idea..

  • 33. Adel AlSomali  |  February 24th, 2010 at 12:50 am

As previously mentioned , the BK’s slogan is ” have it your way “. The Ad was pretty good to me as it made me laugh ” humor “. How does it relate to the BK brand & product and help their brand stay in the mind of consumers, they came up with the idea of Arabs in the Middle East and their oil ” Frequent questions asked by ignorant westerners “. How does this transaction go , oil for cash , then instead of paying them ” Arabs ” with cash , we sell them the Whopper !. Now, is it ” messageā€ complicated to some? Maybe. However , who’s the target market here? Arabs or Americans or people in general ? Personally , i don’t think this Ad would appeal to Arabs as many would consider ” as we have seen in the comments above ” this Ad as offending while it may other Arabs same as me would see it funny & O.K. I’d say that it’s for consumers in general. One smart counter attack Ad that an Ad agency can come up with , is to make another Ad that sounds offensive to Americans :P
Anyways , well done guys :)

  • 34. Eng.salah  |  February 24th, 2010 at 11:54 am

    i like the second one

  • 35. Rawad  |  February 24th, 2010 at 3:35 pm

In a recent interview in America. The announcer asked some people in the street for some places. Some of them did not know that Paris is the capital of France. American and European people living in ignorance of the Middle East. We have a civilization of 12 thousand years BC in Syria. West claimed to read the history of the Middle East

  • 36. K.S.A girl  |  February 25th, 2010 at 9:30 am

Like so many of the others said… these commercials bring back fond memories… Like the girl who noticed that Mohd had an accent. “Where are you from?”,she asked. “Kuwait” he said.

She got that “where the heck is that?” look on her face and Mohd said… “It’s in New Jersey.” And she said… “Oh yeahhhhhhh! I knew that!”

    pffffttttt

Just to answer the people who were skeptical about the relation between the Ad & its slogan.

in simple word, the two guys just let the girls to have their way in describing ME.

    Have it your way!!!!!!!!
