    Mr. Walid Azze was a jury member in KAAA, KREA and Jordan awards so he had access to this ad and other ads that got awarded for similar art direction!!!! why now? i dont disagree about the ad beaing cliche’ its the timeing that is strange…they just now woke up and smelled the roses? Geeee

    It is clear to everyone that your comments don’t just contain bigotry, but are loaded with frustration; your comments depict a picture of someone who is either himself deeply embittered or, for a long time, allowed others to write and think bitterly about him. People in the industry often describe you in harsh terms; maybe such outbursts mean Louai Al Asfahani really is a straight-talker. Or maybe, surely— he is a man filled with hate.
    You know, the loathing you feel for us, my father who you never met, and the magazine– to which you used to kiss ass for only having your name published– is understandable somehow for us– as one day we had enough of hearing you throwing your execration at each and everyone in the industry and left you before getting intoxicated by such a mindset – Can’t forget how you used to belittle people and how many times you turned red when creatives used to snatch gold or get good press… And you think you got it all by making it at the Summit…Poor You…Poor me to waste energy on you…
    Although, every time we get to notice your name, it’s no surprise to see you bad mouthing, but why are you insisting on involving my father, who doesn’t even know that you exist, who has no idea or time to care about blogs and silly details and who remains one of the rare ethical people left in such a bitchy industry—but again, it’s just your nature, you’re only good at hammering people and it’s our turn now to get punched because you got dumped. Actually, you go trashed like we trash old [stinky] socks.

    Apologies Zeid for infecting this blog with inappropriate matters this rancorous dude leaves us no choice but to remind him of his essence.

    It surely is a pity Asfahani to see you unveil your essence, through spontaneous animosity—I’d call it execration—and across a space made for creativity and betterment in communication.
    But hey, Bad publicity is better than No publicity at all right? No wonder why Asfarani keeps on wandering from a blog to another spiting ill feeling and inspiring repugnance, turning ballistic each time he remembers how lagging he still is… Have you ever wondered why is it that your just not well-regarded by th entire industry you function in—have you ever functioned anyhow? Why is it that you have never achieved to secure clients? Why is it that Paragon is so square-minded and never enjoyed growth? It’s clear for everyone but you.

    Zeid you can be happy too, this man is your perfect tool for increasing traffic…. Horn….Time out…
    Our message to you remains the same…SNAP and STOP flapping like a fish out of water.

    I am not sure why this old ad is posted now.. It was done back in 2002 while I was with Impact & Echo. It was the first of a series of similar ads that followed in Kuwait using the same creative technique. The Art Director on this ad was Wakim Zeidan. Regards.

    This ad was done back in 2002 when I was a Creative Director @ Impact & Echo Kuwait. It was the first of a series of ads that followed using the same technique (posted on ArabAdZone). The same technique continued to be used for IKEA before and during my tenure at Horizon.FCB, but not this one. Back in 2002 the Art Director on this ad was Wakim Zeindam, he started this technique for IKEA. I don’t understand why this is posted now, under the wrong agency and with the wrong time line.
    Ghada, appreciate if you can take the necessary action to fix this on ArabAdZone. This ad is the original and it goes to Impact & Echo, the rest just followed. Hope you and Hussein are doing well. We miss you. Regards and all the best.

    ArabAd Zone is like run by a high school student, or at least it sounds like its run by a high school student. I think the person there is just trying to be controversial so people can visit his site but his comments and remarks are too immature for anyone to take him seriously. I would rather stick to adblograbia or ads2blog where at least there content is new and original, plus the owners of the site are equal to everyone.

    Fact 1- the same art direction won CD: Mr.Elie Bou Chaya a bronze award at the KAAA back in 2005 (back then he was with Team Y&R); Client: Jashanmal stores Brand: Delsey.

    Judging panel: Walid Azzi, Dr. Adel Al-Wugayan, Prof. CP Rao, Dr. Larry Pleshko, Prof. Safwat Al-Alem, Abdulrazaq Shoshan, Kenneth Hassel.

    Reference: Arab Ad, December 2005/Vol. 15/No. 12, page: 23
    (This issue featured the critiqued Ikea ad on page 44 as an example of creativity from Kuwait along another ad by the same art director for Corvette which won a gold award on page 23 for JWT Dubai for the Benz ad!!!

    Fact 2- the same art direction won Publicis Graphics a silver award at the Jordan advertising awards back in 2005 Client: Telelink Brand: Motorola.

    Judging panel: Walid Azzi, Sina Atta, Isabella Baffa, Halim Choueiry, Nagi Moubarak, Ani Orfali, Tony Sabbagh, Randa Jabaji Sharaf, Nadim Zahar.

    Conclusion 1- this art direction is very popular with the judging panels across geographic boarders ;)

    Conclusion 2- the judging panel was not professional by awarding such ads.

    Conclusion 3- the judging panel is professional but deliberately wanted to award certain agencies regardless of quality of work.
