would have been better if you’d have mentioned the source of the ad

thanking you in advance for taking care of this matter

Actually I got it directly by email from the agency. I will now email you a copy of the email I got from them. All you had to do was ask…

Why are you surprised? Do you know that AdBlogArabia has been around since January 2006 and receives several ads by email everyday?

Additionally, when I do post some ads taken from your blog (which I like by the way), I link back to it. See these posts:

    http://mediame.com/adblogarabia/index.php?s=adeaters&searchbutton=Go%21

I like your blog and am pleased to link to it. Keep up the good work.

Let me point out that AdBlogArabia not only respects sources, but is also the most linked to blog on Arab advertising according to Technorati.com.

As you can see, I have posted your comment (complaint) and answered it publicly. I look forward to seeing you post a follow up here on the site.

    Thanks and keep visiting!

    HSBC ad!!!!!!!

  • http://www.ragejoadv.com restless

    how come ?

  • kre8tive

Louai, did HSBC did an awareness campaign regarding saving electricity & water and same visuals and layout? WTF are you saying?
If so, the subject is SO cliché that would definitely result into common visuals that would make evryone say.. OH! It’s like the Ad I saw on TV, OMG! It’s a copy of this.. and that! Atleast I think these guys over at DDB created something different and relevant to the subject. Have you?

  • kimo

come on.. maybe L just wished they did it.. lol. seen their agency portfolio dude, check it out.. very student work. Don’t know how they’d won awards and call themselves the “Most Creative Agency in Kuwait” lmfao!

  • http://248am.com Mark

Louai take a chill pill dude, there are absolutely ZERO similarities between the two ads! Whats wrong with you?

  • Hummer

    Louai, habibi, cool down guys…
we have seen thousands of ads showing a teddy bear on a backseat… for diferent accounts. it doesn’t make it a CopyCat.
And both HSBC’s and this one aren’t nice. too forced.

  • Adchemist

The most hated L shape in the ad market, is Drugs Drags you Down Dood?

  • kre8tive

Louai my friend, this made us question your credibility as a creative director. And.. the drug ad wasn’t done by Louai it was done by this Filipino dude who used to work freelance with him back then.

  • A E R O

Question somehow unrelated to the ad: how serious are all the companies in Kuwait launching energy conservation ads after the Tarcheed goverment agency did? I mean, is this just a PR stunt or are they that serious about it? If they are, what concrete things are they doing to help preserve energy knowing people in Kuwait do not pay water or electricity?

  • kre8tive

It’s not rue that people in Kuwait DO NOT pay electricity. I
Infact both water & electricity is being paid, but mostly expats bear the burden, and They are indeed serious about this issue on saving and conservation.

  • http://www.paragonmc.com Louai Alasfahani

Dear kre8tive, before questioning other people credibility and missleading others; you should first get your facts stright.
i will strighten them up for you as you seem not able on your owen.
the creative director behind the ad you refer to is Me, myself and I however the ilustrator who finlized the creative concept/idea is a gentelman called “Boboy” who was at that time a full time employee at Paragon Marketing Communications. NB. as a strict policy we dont work with freelancers ONLY full time commited professionals.

    Dear administrator/ziad,
i wonder what happend to my priviously posted reply to some of the comments on your blog? they seem to have disapeared in a magical way! the idea of a blog is to share thougts and allow a wider margin of expression. although you are a representitive of a known advertising magazine this should not influance your blog…dont mix business with pleasure.

  • http://www.paragonmc.com Louai Alasfahani

on a sepearte note…what are the reasons behind not posting the latest copy cat ads i have e-mailed you? did they touch a nerve? or are you protecting certain “friends” in the industry? i was hopeing this blog would be more mature and professional.

  • http://www.paragonmc.com Louai Alasfahani

for all you “experts” who dont bother seeing the obvious and take pleasure in “playing” creative critiques. the HSBC ad vs. the center point ad (that was never published by the way) had an electrical socket representing a FACE expression; so did the HSBC ad the featured an electrical socket representing 2 face expressions on as shocked the other as delighted. now if you still cant see the “telepathy” in the creative idea or the art directioin for that matter i suggest you see an eye specialist and if you bother posting yet another insluting comment then a brain scan is in order. thank you for your attention…now go do something usefull for a change.

  • http://www.paragonmc.com Louai Alasfahani

I stand corrected about the ad not being published…i personally saw it today in an English newspaper.
    sorry :(

  • kre8tive

That’s what I’m trying to tell you Louai, so be careful next time.. ( hope you learned your lesson )

  • tarsheed_pinoy

great ads, great work pare Gilbert! really conceptual! just to show how many of us Pinoys still do our low-key share in advertising here in Kuwait and in the region.

    mucho guapa! ahihi

  • Gilbert

    Thanks, Tarsheed_Pinoy..

Good to see people raising awareness on how important it is to take action right now regarding our future. People are not aware of their spending at home simply because they have not been educated into energy saving. For instance, some tips for you to save a lot of water while you re washing the dishes is by simply filling up the sink with water and only use that water. If you have your tab running all the time while you re washing the dishes you will end up spending triple the water one should spend. With electricity is even simpler, by simply switching off in on the main plug the electricity connection you can save up to 3 per cent of a full s electricity budget. Thanks for the post, will recommend it.
