Marketing & Sales Manager | Aqaba Container Terminal

Job Summary

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Assist with the development of a Commercial / marketing strategy and related executable action plan
  • Develop and provide local market intelligence
  • Analyze statistics and provide underlying rational in order to understand and better interpret the data
  • Manage and oversee the marketing resources of the terminal
  • Attract develop and retain customers
  • Follow up and manage the relationship with the main customers operating in the terminal and address their requirements.
  • Manage development of overall standards and guidelines of marketing in the company including promotion
  • Maintain and develop the corporate image of the company
  • Analyze marketing needs and develop tactics to meet those needs
  • Coordinate customer related issues with the relevant departments in the terminal
  • Communicate terminal requirements and new developments to the relevant parties especially customers
  • Understand the port tariff and address pricing issues with the clients
  • Identify and develop growth potential for the terminal business.
  • Play an important role in the company’s corporate social responsibility program in the local community
  • Represent the company in certain forums and conferences if needed.

Report to
Reports directly to the Chief Commercial officer and on occasions to the Chief Executive Officer.

Eligibility

  • Requires a degree in Business, economics, marketing or related field. Substantial and extensive work experience may be considered as a substitute for education
  • Minimum seven years experience in shipping, transpiration, forwarding or related fields. Experience in a container shipping line is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in marketing of shipping and/or transportation service.
  • Needs to have proficiency in Arabic and English languages both verbal and written
  • To have the ability to analyze data and compile it for use in executing tasks
  • Should have good communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to operate standard software applications such as Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Should be ready to travel and meet with clients at various locations
  • Must be able to exercise direction and good judgment in negotiations and decision making

Requires a degree in Business, economics, marketing or related field
