ADFF screens over 200 films from across 43 countries

The 5th Abu Dhabi Film Festival (ADFF) will be screening over 200 films from over 43 countries, bringing a selection of old and new classics. Presented each October by the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, ADFF will offer screenings each evening at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, while continuing to present its programme at VOX Cinemas, Marina Mall, and the Abu Dhabi Theatre.
 
The Opening Night Film, which is today –Thursday, will feature Monsieur Lazhar, a story of an Algerian refugee, Bachir Lazhar, who proposes himself as a substitute to a school’s headmistress after he learns of the death of a sixth grade teacher in her classroom.
 
On Friday, the Abu Dhabi Film Festival will be screening a showcase film; Stockholm East, a Narrative Competition; Chicken with Plums, and Charulata; a masterpiece directed by Satyajit Ray, and a Special Programme titled Between Heaven and Earth.
