The region’s fastest growing media agency, Carat, has been named Campaign’s Global Media Network of the Year. Campaign UK, which is the industry’s leading publication, announced the result in its Annual edition that reviewed the financial and creative performance of leading agencies in 2010.
Contributing to the success was Carat MENA, which is wholly owned by Aegis Group plc and recently re-structured in the Middle East and North Africa following a management-buy-out. Since then it has won six major clients including, Deutsche Bank, Nokia, Solen, Disney and Kellogg’s. The award also reflects significant managerial appointments which have included Michael Nederlof, CEO of Aegis and Carat in the Middle East and North Africa.
Speaking about the worldwide network, Jerry Buhlmann, the global CEO of Aegis Group said: “I am delighted that Carat has once again been recognised with this prestigious acclaim. It is a tribute to the hard work and commitment of our global team, and demonstrates the breadth within the Aegis Group.”
Michael Nederlof, added: “Within the Aegis network, the Middle East and North Arfica is recognised as an incredibly important region that has huge potential, especially in digital where its penetration rates are growing faster than anywhere else in the world. As a result we now have 19 offices across the Middle East and North Africa, and under the Aegis brand, we intend on increasing our footprint and capabilities even further.”
