The Peninsula reports that Al Jazeera English channel has been granted a license to broadcast in India, and will be available for TV viewers in the country very soon. The decision will allow cable and satellite companies in India to add Al Jazeera English to their current line-up of channels. Al Jazeera English has a bureau in New Delhi that has covered major stories of international significance. With the prospect of reaching an estimated 115 million households in India, this important market will be significant for the channel’s expansion.
