EUROSTAR Group, a well diversified conglomerate with core interests in Digital Satellite Receiving Systems, Consumer Electronics (CE) and other businesses has announced the Middle East launch of the ‘EUROSTAR Tablet,’ the first ever Arabic enabled Android tablet at GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK 2011 which started yesterday. The ‘EUROSTAR Tablet’ comes with power packed features like an engaging seven inch touch screen, an Android 2.2 operating system, 256 MB of RAM and 4 GB ROM Flash. The release complements the leading company’s current efforts to hit over USD 100 million in revenues for its consumer electronics division for 2011. EUROSTAR officials have expressed confidence that key trends like the emergence of display devices as strong revenue drivers and the continuing development and release of products and applications; will play a major role in helping the company meet its target revenue.
The ‘EUROSTAR Tablet’ is offering Arabic-based applications like iQuran, Azan and English to Arabic translator program. The tablet’s seven inch screen offers an 800 x 480 resolution with processor speed of 800 MHz. Weighing in at 1.04 Kg., the ‘EUROSTAR Tablet’ has a built in 1.3 megapixel camera, 1 W audio speakers and is powered by a 1500 m AH battery. WiFi ready, users will enjoy using the Android tablet with its preloaded applications that include Google Talk, Android Market, Facebook, Twitter, Skype, YouTube, Gmail, Dictionary, Encyclopaedia and games. Other accessories included in the package are a power adapter, ear phones, USB cable, 4 GB Micro SD card and a leather case. The ‘EUROSTAR Tablet’ is currently available through leading retail outlets and through EUROSTAR’s channel strength of over 500 dealers, hypermarkets and corporate channel partners.

EUROSTAR has revealed that the release of the ‘EUROSTAR Tablet’ is expected to key in a ten per cent sales growth in the company’s consumer electronics division. Full-fledged teams from Taiwan, China and Korea are closely working on the development of this new range of Android tablets, which is targeted towards the Middle East’s growing number of internet savvy consumers. The ‘EUROSTAR Tablet’ is part of EUROSTAR’s plans to develop and offer new convergent technology product ranges in this region and in the UAE.
