Microsoft acquires Skype for $8.5 billion

It has been announced that Microsoft has bought Skype for $8.5 billion, a deal which will help Microsoft tap into video and mobile communication through Skype's technology and 170 million users. Microsoft CEO, Steve Ballmer, shared five of the leading scenarios of what the computing giant might do with Skype.

Briefly, they five scenarios are:

Integrate it with the Xbox
Improve the Windows Phone
Show up at your office meeting
Appear on Facebook
Bring some juice back to Hotmail
