The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority(TRA) has recently launched its Twitter page "@TRABahrain" aiming to communicate the telecommunications' news to the mass public.
In today's extremely competitive world, social media is the new 'in' thing and is considered an important hub for communications. "The usage of social media such as Twitter is growing tremendously as it is complemented by the affordability of the broadband services in Bahrain. The online community has become a popular new media for people's communications and TRA understands the importance of adopting the new technology to interact with both online and offline individuals"said Mr. Basil Al Arrayed, TRA's Communications and Consumer Affairs Director.
TRA's Twitter page is an important tool through which TRA will communicate its activities to the industry stakeholders, the general public and any interested party. Its use ensures a significant level of transparency with respect to the actions taken by TRA. This would be another step forward by TRA that seconds its policy of Openness and Transparency.
