Middle East Management Centre (MEMC) will be conducting for the first time in the Gulf the Blue Ocean Strategy (BOS) executive workshops in Abu Dhabi and Doha on March 6 and 8, respectively. The aim of BOS is not to out-perform the competition in the existing industry, but to create new market space or a blue ocean, thereby making the competition irrelevant. The BOS was developed by Professors W Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne. The strategy is the result of a decade-long study of 150 strategic moves spanning more than 30 industries over 100 years.

Nader Hamid, Customized Solutions Manager of MEMC, said: “In this one-day BOS executive workshop in each city, participants will be able to understand how they can break away from the competition by following a rigorous and systematic process to create and capture high-growth and profitable new markets.”

Blue Ocean Strategy is a new thinking and creative tools and concepts of strategies that can assess on how best a company can generate high-growth and high-profit strategies and an ideal starting point for Top Management and Senior Directors to learn Blue Ocean Strategy logic tools and frameworks.
BOS is open to Chief Executives, Managing Directors and Senior Managers with responsibilities for Sales, Marketing, Finance, Strategy, Operations, Human Resources, L & D, Customer Services and IT.

The workshops will be conducted by John Riker, Managing Director of the Blue Ocean Strategy–Initiative Centre. He has led BOS initiatives in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, across industries as diverse as media, food and beverages, pharmaceutical, telecoms, industrial ceramics and financial services.
