The International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) has announced Dubai as the Middle East’s ‘2011 World Festival and Event City’, according to Gulf News. The announcement comes as a result of the emirate’s excellence in organising and hosting world class events and festivals, which have consequently boosted tourism and trade, the main pillars of the emirate’s economy.
