Polytechnic students welcomed at Unisono

Unisono, Bahrain’s leading independent full service agency, organised an open day for visual design students from Bahrain Polytechnic on Wednesday, 6th of July. The open day programme gave the students the opportunity to learn more about the creative industry and to interact with various departments Including creative, strategic, client servicing, media, digital and PR .

The students were given an interesting educational presentation about creativity and strategic branding by Unisono CEO Amy Morgan and senior members from each department. The event was the inaugural session of Unisono’s corporate social responsibility program aimed at inspiring young talented students to join the creative industry by increasing their understanding and awareness.

Commenting on the occasion, Amy Morgan stated, “We are delighted to welcome the Polytechnic students and have the opportunity to empower them with knowledge. Unisono’s vision is ‘to positively transform’ and this really applies to the creative industry here in Bahrain. We want to see more talented Bahrainis pursuing careers in this industry and attract greater support and respect from parents and educational establishments, as well as government and industry. Ms Morgan adds, “We hope the students gain knowledge from this experience and become even more motivated to approach their work with passion and achieve their career aspirations.”

Head of Visual Design at the Bahrain Polytechnic, Victoria Campbell, speaking about the open day said, “These trips help students get a first hand introduction into various industries. I really appreciate the effort put in by the Unisono team to help students understand this creative industry.”

The students were given a tour of the studio by the Creative Director, who explained in brief the various functions and the process of creating effective communications such as advertising campaigns, including ideation, sketching, design and copywriting. The students asked a number of questions and thanked Unisono for hosting them and providing them the opportunity to see how professional agencies function.

Ms Morgan summed up Unisono’s CSR mission in education by stating, “Creativity and communication are essential ingredients in business and societal success. Our mission is to grow appreciation of the creative sector and help develop excellence by  inspiring more talented people through our internship and education programmes. We have already had a number of success stories and look forward to further contributing to the development of our industry. There is a lot of talent here in Bahrain and across the region, it is our responsibility to help it flourish”.
