The Dubai Press Club today announced the 9th edition of Arab Media Forum to be held in Dubai will also host the third edition of Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Youth Media Awards for the first time.
Themed 'Shifting Mediascape: Inspiring Content... Expanding Reach', the Arab Media Forum 2010 is organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, from 12-13 May at The Atlantis-Palm Hotel. The event is expected to host more than 800 prominent global and Arab members of the media in Dubai.
Winners of the prestigious Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Youth Media Awards will receive their prizes at a gala ceremony on the first day of the forum. An extended initiative to promote Emirati youth from 15-35 years, the award recognizes the merits of talented youngsters working within the media sector in the UAE.
Maryam Bin Fahad, Executive Director, Dubai Press Club, said: "We remain committed to support talented youth in the UAE through various initiatives, especially in the fast-evolving media sector. Our objective is to nurture and support young individuals keen to chart their career path in various media segments. Our initiative is an outcome of the MoU we signed with the Organizing Committee of Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Youth Media Awards two years ago and we will continue to provide enhanced support to create a generation of UAE nationals well-equipped in media skills to excel in the growing regional media landscape."
Khadeeja Al Marzouqi, Head of the Organizing Committee at Sheikh Majid Bin Mohammed Youth Media Awards, said, "Since its inception in 2008, the Award has continuously witnessed a growing participation rate among the UAE youth. The Arab Media Forum acts as an ideal platform for our participants to interact with one of the largest media gathering in the Arab world. AMF 2010 will host a busy agenda incorporating a variety of topics on the latest findings published in the Arab Media Outlook 2009-2013. The event will analyse the impact on the media sector brought about by the changes and challenges in the economic, political, social and technology spheres.
