Rapid TVNews reports that ART, the largest Middle East pay-TV platform, will be switching from Irdeto to Viaccess just days prior to the 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament in an attempt to hold-back piracy and infringement.

According to the source, viewers who want to watch the FIFA soccer games will have to acquire the new ART-endorsed Viaccess set-top box, however, ART will continue to simulcrypt Irdeto conditional access for the foreseeable future before any final Irdeto switch-off is concerned.
