For the second consecutive year, Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) partners with ArabNet to boost its Digital Summit 2012, slated to take place in Beirut between 27-31 March. The premier regional gathering for the emerging Arab web and mobile industry seeks to raise Arab awareness of the latest regional and international innovations in this technology sector.

For his part, Farhan Kalaldeh, QRCE’s Executive Director, said, "Our support for the ArabNet summit stems from our belief in the important role it plays in acquainting Arab youths with the proper ways of deploying and utilizing modern technologies and in creating job opportunities". He also noted that the five-day conference will present opportunities to individuals shopping their innovative ideas through competitions such as the Ideathon and Startup Demo.

The Ideathon aims at turning bright ideas into functional products, while the Startup Demo helps early stage enterprises to take their startup to the next level. ArabNet will introduce the top 20 entrepreneurs and startups in the region, exposing the latest developments in the digital sphere and giving entrants the chance to win big cash prizes and attract the attention of investors, incubators, and developers.

In his comment, Omar Christidis, Founder of ArabNet, highlighted the role of the ArabNet which serves as a platform for innovative individuals in the region to not only connect and learn, but also leverage their ideas and talents in front of the right people. “We aim to facilitate the growth of entrepreneurs and help them overcome challenges such as limited funding, support, and resources with the ultimate goal of strengthening the web and mobile industry in the region,” he added. As the web and mobile industry in the Middle East undergoes a period of unprecedented growth and expansion, so do the opportunities available to entrepreneurs and digital professionals in the Arab region.

With the annual ArabNet Digital Summit drawing closer, the team of its website is calling upon aspiring entrepreneurs and digital professionals in the region to showcase their talent, connect with their peers, and bring their visions to life through a series of competitions and activities designed to bring skills and funding together.
