The Position:
As the Advertising Controller you will provide support to the Advertising Manager and will be responsible for project managing selected activities and liaising directly with a team of staff and suppliers to develop and implement cost-effective and creative communications requirements for the Emirates Group.
Specific accountabilities of the role include:
Provide input into refining brand strategies and the resultant activity plans across all target markets and throughout the network.
Act as the brand custodian across all communication channels both internal and external.
Project manage and execute brand activities.
Work closely with local agencies and the extended virtual network to maximise creative quality and impact of marketing communication solutions.
Brief media agencies for media requirements and review plans in conjunction with the Advertising Manager and Media Team.
Coordinate the integration of advertising campaigns with on-line strategies, media relations and promotions activities to ensure maximum impact, cohesion and cost effectiveness of communication.
Maintain regular contact with key business unit staff to ensure that project development updates are communicated.
Support the budgeting process by assisting with defining business marketing objectives, crafting a communications plan, producing advertising expenditure updates to ensure maximum efficiencies and make recommendations according to market changes.

The Position:
You will support the Media Relations Manager in producing press releases, media plans etc to gain positive publicity for the Emirates Group in the media worldwide. You will be mainly responsible for print and broadcast media based in the Middle East and GCC countries including local media in UAE.
More specifically, you will be responsible for researching and gathering information about new developments and achievements of the Company to ensure good coverage across the targeted media. Arabian Business Reports that Bahrain-based Gulf Air announced it has signed a three year, $14 million deal to sponsor of Queens Park Rangers (QPR), a club currently in the Coca-Cola Championship, the second tier of the English league system.
Gulf Air joins Emirates and Etihad who also sponsor their own clubs in England's capital.
The scale of the deal depends on success. Only 1 million pounds per year will be paid while the club remains in the Championship, but will increase to 3 million pounds for any year spent in the lucrative Premiership along side Emirates-sponsored Arsenal and Etihad-sponsored Chelsea.

Aramex today unveiled a new corporate image that is designed to catch up to the rapid growth of the company from a regional transportation solutions provider into a major player in the global logistics marketplace, with an updated look that marks the biggest change in the company’s visual identity to date.

- Educated to University level with a relevant degree. A postgraduate qualification from a professional marketing institution, for example a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, would be a distinct advantage, as would a professional qualification in the Market Research discipline.
- 10+ years experience as an Account Manager or Director in an international advertising agency OR 10+ years experience running a major brand team within an international blue chip service company.

Publicis Groupe Media, led by its Starcom MediaVest network, has been awarded the consolidated global media planning and buying account for Emirates airline, with estimated billings of $350m. The group won the business after a final round of pitches against Omnicom’s OMD.
WPP’s UK incumbent MediaCom and Aegis Media’s Carat were knocked out at an earlier stage. The Emirates account, co-ordinated from Dubai, spans 80 countries.
The new account will be managed by Philip Jabbour, client managing director at PGM, and brings together business previously handled by more than 20 different agencies, with the lions share split between MediaCom and OMD.
Jabbour said: “Emirates Group is the fastest growing airline in the world and a powerful force in Dubai and throughout our region, not to mention the world. “Our team is ready to apply our considerable global resources toward accelerating their expansion while being true to the brand’s values of supreme quality, customer service and innovation.”
Steve Wheeler, senior vice president of advertising at Emirates, said: “Emirates has found a strong partner to help us become a truly global airline brand. Publicis Groupe Media’s hunger to be part of our growing business, their powerful network and talented team set them apart during the pitch.”
The network's first task will be to plan and buy a campaign that will focus on the airline's two key markets in Asia-Pacific, Australia and Japan.
