The National has announced a host of new additions today, including a new premium magazine suite, a revamped Sport section, extended Arts & Life offering, new digital platforms and an engaging new Weekend section.

Spurred by the liberalization and the boom in satellite TV supply and viewership, many channels in the Arab TV industry recognize the need for offering quality content to maintain their attraction to viewers and advertisers. Reality TV’s attraction lies in its relative novelty to audiences as well as its lower costs of production as participants are mainly regular people and not highly paid movie and TV stars.

Publishers who used Google's new microsurvey tool have already seen revenues, only two weeks after the search company rolled out the option. As an alternative to online ads, Google's microsurvey allows publishers to display a question. For every reader that answers, Google pays the publisher 5 cents. The data is then passed on to market researchers who pay Google 10 cents for the answers.

According to the Publishers Information Bureau, total magazine ad pages in the U.S. fell 8.2% to 33,828 in the first quarter of 2012. Of the 218 titles that are tracked by the bureau,152 experienced ad page declines, 86 titles experienced ad page declines of 10% or more, while 40 titles experienced ad page declines of 20% or more.

After more than two years of preparation, the group of publishers is ready to release the app, which gives readers the chance to purchase all their magazines for a monthly rate.
