With the 2013 Movie Awards Season in full swing, Fox Movies continues to bring  Hollywood’s most prestigious awards to the region. Cinema’s biggest night, the 85th Academy Awards, take place on 24th  February, and will air live from 1 am KSA/2am UAE for the fifth consecutive year on Fox Movies. Fox Movies is the channel in the region with exclusive rights to the glamorous event. Fox Movies Shines in Gold this Movie Awards Season, with a slew of other high profile live and exclusive award ceremonies scheduled to air, including theBAFTA Awards on 10 February at midnight KSA/ 1am UAE.

AFLAM, a monthly film club that aims to show the best of Arabic independent cinema in  Abu Dhabi, will be screening award winning film, ‘Son of Babylon’  by director Mohamed Al-Daradji, who was recognised as Variety's Middle Eastern Filmmaker of the year in 2010. The screening will be held at VOX Cinema at Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi at 8pm on 27th June. Guests are invited to arrive for 7pm for an hour of networking and the screening will conclude with an open discussion with the acclaimed Iraqi director to encourage dialogue about the feature film and the local industry.
