The New New Internet has reported that the First Regional IPR and Cyber Crime Conference in Amman-Jordan highlighted the progress of Arab countries in intellectual property rights protection, exploring recommendations for governments and companies on how to reduce software piracy. The event also tackled violation of user privacy, cyber crime, and the effect of intellectual property rights infringement on the business environment.

Business Software Alliance has announced that the First Regional IPR and Cyber Crime Conference will be held from October 24 to 25, 2010 in Amman, Jordan in association with the Jordanian National Library and Adobe Systems. The inaugural conference will highlight the achievements of Middle Eastern countries in intellectual property rights (IPR) protection attracting authorities, industry leaders and decision-makers concerned with safeguarding IPR in the region for in-depth dialogue and debate.
