The organisers of the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival are pleased to announce that Alex Bogusky, Chief Creative Officer of Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Boulder/Miami, USA , will head the 2007 Titanium Integrated Lions jury.

Alex started at what was then called Crispin and Porter Advertising in 1987 as an art director. He became Creative Director of the agency five years later and was named a partner in 1997. Under his direction, the agency has become arguably one of the world’s most awarded. As well as winning numerous Lions, Crispin Porter + Bogusky have also been awarded four Cannes Grand Prix in four different categories and Interactive Agency of the Year in 2005 and 2006. Alex has been profiled in Luerzer’s Archive, Communication Arts, Graphis, Adweek, Adage Business 2.0, Fast Company and Business Week. His work has been featured in, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Newsweek, TIME, Wired, Advertising Age and Creativity as well as on national television and radio. In 2002, Alex was inducted into the American Advertising Federation’s Hall of Achievement. A compendious assemblage of his agency’s work has just been released in the form of a book, Hoopla, which he claims is “on par with the greatest books of all time, including the bible and the torah and so fourth.”

Terry Savage, Executive Chairman of The Festival says, “The advertising industry is a richer and a more exciting place thanks to Alex. Richer for his ideas and his constant pushing of the creative boundaries, and more exciting thanks for his beliefs and influence on popular culture. We are truly honoured to have Alex chair the Titanium Integrated Lions jury where all these elements are fundamental to these awards.”

Commenting on his appointment, Alex Bogusky said, “It’s a huge honour. The aspect of advertising that has always been the most interesting for me is the immediate perishable nature of it. The way an idea can live in a moment of time and be defined by and help define that same moment. So to be asked to help steward the Titanium and Integrated award is an awesome responsibility that I couldn’t turn down even with my fears of ordering the wrong wine at dinner.”
