The new iPhone App from QNA is designed to provide Qatar, Gulf and Arab news coverage globally. It uniquely provides real time multi-media news to the public as well as additional news reports to registered users who include media subscribers, enterprise and government.

Apple has announced that it has hit 25 billion downloads as of Friday. The company has not announced which app pushed the download count over the top. Information-sharing app 'Bump' pushed App Store downloads past the one billion mark in 2009, while 'Paper Glider' pushed the 10 billionth download more than a year ago. Apple has yet to reveal which lucky App Store shopper won Apple’s 25 billion app countdown prize of $10,000.

According to a study carried out by Distimo, Apple's App Store is generating six times the revenue earned by rival Google's Android market.According to the study, Microsoft's mobile download portal has surpassed Nokia's OVI Store as well as Research In Motion's BlackBerry App World. The Windows Phone Marketplace has also enjoyed 400% growth during 2011, and has therefore reduced the gaps between itself and other rivals in the market such as the Apple App Store and the Android Market.

BlackBerry recently reached a 1 billion app download milestone according to RIM, which released some numbers with regards to its app store. It may not be close to the heady numbers that Apple and Google have reported over the last few months, Apple has hit 15 billion downloads, Google 4.5 billion – but it does show that BlackBerry App World is slowly creating an app eco-system for its BlackBerry line-up.
