According to a new study by Chadwick Martin Bailey, the TV industry is about to experience a 'radical shift'. The study found that nearly 63% of consumers who watch TV or video on a tablet did so even when there was a TV with the very same content available. Furthermore, 54% of all consumers have tried alternatives to pay-TV such as Netflix, Apple TV, or even network websites.

Google will launch a home entertainment system that will allow users to stream music throughout their home wirelessly. The device will stream music from Google’s online music service, which was introduced last year. The device will stream music via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and connect to other home electronics. It is expeced to be released later this year. Google is thought to be developing new technologies to rival home entertainment services offered by Apple TV and iTunes.

According to a respected Apple analyst, the company is in the process of developing an 'Apple TV'. Gene Munster, an analyst who works for Piper Jaffray, has recently revealed that Apple is set to launch a TV next year. It will most probably feature a display unit that has exclusive Apple TV settings. The Apple TV should be available by the end of 2012.

Rapid TV News reports that Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt, has confirmed the launch of Google TV in the United States before the end of 2010 and worldwide next year. The announcement comes on the heels of the launch of the new Apple TV, however, Google’s approach is diametrically different being network rather than device focused.
