Hot on the heels of NileSat's expansion plans, the Saudi Arabia-based Arabsat has ordered two major new satellites from a consortium of Astrium and Thales/Alenia. The two craft (Arabsat 5A and BADR 5) will take care of Arabsat’s broadcast plans for the best part of the next 20 years.
