A recent study by Effective measure has revealed that 31.1 million unique browsers attributed to a 3.9% increase in users on local language news websites in the MENA region in the month of February 2012. Over 500 million web pages from websites in this category were viewed in this time, with mobile acquiring a 12.3% share.
Twitter prepares launch of Arabic language support

Within weeks, Twitter users will be able to tweet from right to left, as the micro-blogging site has announced the launch of language support for several languages including Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew and Urdu. “More than 425,000 volunteers contribute to the translation center,” the company said. “We’ll make Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew and Urdu available for everyone on Twitter.com later this spring.”
