After coming to an agreement, Al Jazeera will now broadcast in Manitoba, Canada via MTS TV. Al Jazeera has usually been shut out of pay-TV channel line-ups in North America, and is only available through a select number of cable providers. However, demand for the channel has grown steadily in North America during the Arab Spring. The channel is now readily available to viewers in Manitoba who are subscribers of MTS TV.

New research from GlobalWebIndex shows sharp declines among Facebook users in some of the world's biggest markets including the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom. The decline in usage for activities such as status updates, sharing content, messaging and installing apps has been called the Facebook fatigue factor.
