Aegis Media has announced that iProspect, a leading digital performance marketing agency within its global network, is launching in the Middle East and North Africa to help regional operations improve their customer conversion rates online, bearing in mind an average 97% of visitors leave a website without any click or action.

Aegis Group plc, one the world’s leading, focused media and digital communications groups, announced that Carat, which has its regional headquarters based in Dubai, has been appointed by General Motors Co. as its digital media partner, following a full agency review undertaken during the fourth quarter of 2011.

According to a survey of media use among children by media agency Carat, UAE- based pre-teens are more likely to watch television or use the internet than they are to read books. Of the 200 children surveyed, 90% said they watched television every day and 65% said they used the internet at least once a week. Meanwhile, only 16% said they read books daily.




Purveyors of confectionary, Solen, is launching its Ozmo brand into the Middle Eastern market and has appointed independent media agency, Carat to handle the media buying and planning. Founded in 1989, Solen is one of Turkey's largest brands producing over 200 confectionary products and exporting 70% of its production to more than 120 countries. The scope of work will be centred on a new TV campaign, due to launch in the Autumn of 2010 and focusing on UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Iraqi markets.

Carat has bolstered its management in the Middle East by appointing Antonio Chedrawy as Regional Corporate Services Director and Swaminathan Janakiraman as the agency's Regional Media Buying Director, effective immediately. Michael Nederlof, CEO of Carat Digital MENA, will also become the region's Interim overall CEO and take up management of the network.
