Stockholders of at least 8% of Research in Motion call for company shake-up

Investment firm Jaguar Financial and some other shareholders owning at least 8% of Research in Motion are calling to oust the company's co-CEOs, Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie, who both own 10% of the company, and potentially sell BlackBerry to the highest bidder. Since last October, Research in Motion’s shares have went down 50% to $24.10, and have slid 58% since the beginning of 2011.

Google attracts one billion unique visitors in May

According to data by ComScore, Google has had one billion worldwide visitors in May, the first time ever that a site has drawn that many visitors in one month, Cnet has reported. Microsoft grabbed the second spot with 905 million visitors last month, up 15% from a year earlier, while Facebook took third place with 714 million visitors, up 30% compared to the same month a year ago.

Wikipedia receives $16 million in support

CNET reports that Jimmy Wales, Co-founder and promoter of Wikipedia, has announced that the online encyclopaedia has successfully collected $16m in donations during this holiday season, the most successful fundraiser in the history of the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, parent of Wikipedia. The foundation and its ad-free sites had enjoyed more than 500,000 donations, including nearly 130,000 donations to local Wikimedia chapters worldwide.
