Facebook has introduced a "listen with" button. The feature allows users of music services such as Rdio and Spotify to listen to songs that their friends are listening to on Facebook. According to Facebook, "Only the people you've shared your listening activity with can see when you're listening with a friend". "You can control privacy settings in music apps when you install the app or on your app settings page after you've installed the app. You can also remove songs you listened to from your timeline on your private activity log."

CNET News reports that more people are accessing the microblogging service Twitter through mobile applications. The number of mobile users on Twitter has grown 62 percent since min-April. Twitter's stats show that 8 percent of all users read and post tweets through iPhone, and 7 percent through BlackBerry Though 78 percent of Twitter users still access the service directly via the traditional Web site, other apps are playing a larger role.
