Amazon releases Kindle Fire at lower price than rival tablets, but less features

Amazon has just recently unveiled its Kindle Fire tablet, a 7-inch display that runs on a heavily customized version of Google’s Android operating system, and weighs less than six ounces. The tablet is offered at a much cheaper price than Apple’s iPad, however, it lacks a camera and microphone, two features found in most rival tablets. 

Google grows its YouTube mobile ad sales by a factor of five this year

It has been reported that Google began allowing in-stream YouTube advertisements to work within its mobile application, allowing content providers to generate advertising revenue. According to CNN Money, YouTube streams on mobile devices have doubled since then, reaching more than 400 million views per day this month, up from about 200 million in March.

It has been reported that Wael Ghonim, head of marketing at Google Middle East, has decided to leave his position and start a technology-focused NGO to help fight poverty and foster education in Egypt following what he called the Internet revolution – Revolution 2.0.

It has been reported through various websites and through social media channels that Wael Ghonim, Google Middle East’s head of marketing, has been missing since January 28th, following his participation in the protests taking place in Egypt. His Twitter page (@Ghonim) shows that he last tweeted on January 28th. His friends and family have been appealing for any information on his location.
