Sony Mobile Communications Middle East and Africa today announced it has entered into an agreement with d1g.com, the Arab world’s most popularplatform for social networks, to provide users with seamless access to rich multimedia content through the latest line of Sony Xperia smartphones.

Wael Ghonim, head of marketing for Google Middle East and North Africa, was finally released on Monday February 7th, following 12 days of being detained by Egyptian authorities during his participation in the Cairo protests. He had been missing since January 27th, which sparked a massive social media campaign to release him which received heavy coverage on TV and in newspapers. Following his release, Wael was interviewed by  Egyptian channel, Dream1 TV. He described the circumstances of his detention and the gloomy experience he went through.
