OSN has announced the launch of OSN Play, an online TV platform that allows viewers to watch the latest movies and series over the Internet on a variety of devices."OSN Play will allow customers to get the best out of their OSN subscription. It's a great way to put viewers in charge of their entertainment and experience the TV they love wherever and whenever they choose. OSN remains committed to being at the forefront of technological advancement and OSN Play will continue to expand to a wide range of digital devices in the coming weeks," said David Butorac, CEO of OSN.

OSN has announced the launch of OSN Play, the region's first online TV platform, allowing its customers to watch the latest movies and series over the Internet on a variety of devices, anywhere, anytime at no extra charge to OSN subscribers.

OSN has announced it will add up to five high-definition channels this year as part of its plan to make the network 'HD-only' by 2015. "We will continue to expand over the next two or three years, to convert the entire platform offering to HD," said David Butorac, chief executive at OSN. Last week, the pay-TV network announced it had added MBC's seven high-definition channels, including MBC1 and the Al Arabiya news station.

Seven high definition channels from MBC have been added to the OSN line-up. MBC 1 HD, MBC Drama, MBC 2 HD, MBC Action HD, MBC Max HD, MBC 4 HD and Al Arabiya news channel will now be available to OSN subscribers across the Middle East and North Africa for no extra charge. "OSN now offers its customers the most comprehensive HD experience in the region and we're delighted to announce the addition of the MBC HD channels to the OSN platform," said David Butorac, chief executive, OSN.

According to David Butorac, chief executive of OSN, the television operator will grow its subscriber base by 34% this year, following recent piracy restrictions. "In 2011, the subscriber base of OSN will increase by 34 per cent," said Butorac. Butorac said OSN had noticed a rise in customers and a reduction in subscription cancellations since OSN launched an anti-piracy campaign last year. Signal piracy has cost the Middle Eastern pay- TV market an estimated $500m a year.
