Qatar-based news channel Al Jazeera English has begun broadcasting in India. The channel started it's broadcast via Dish TV on Wednesday. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wished the channel a successful inauguration, saying "Al Jazeera is gaining quite a reputation worldwide. I wish them success for their launch in India". Al Jazeera English, which launched in 2006, has over seventy offices around the world, including one in New Delhi. The channel was given permission to broadcast in India in December 2010.
