Aspiring entrepreneurs in the UAE are being invited to compete for a cash prize on a new reality TV show conceptualized by local telecommunications company du. Set to broadcast on Dubai Media Incorporated's channel Dubai One later this year, 'The Entrepreneur' will be produced by Sony Pictures Television Arabia.

Du telecom company is seeking reimbursement for licensing fees after the company discovered it had been paying unnecessary fees after overestimating the amount of customers it had. Du charges subscribers up to US$86 a month for TV packages, and pays a proportion of these fees to operators and networks like OSN and Al Jazeera for the right to carry their channels. The telecommunications company is now seeking compensation for the unnecessary licensing fees it had paid to its media partners as a result of overestimating the amount of subscribers it had.
