Dubai Lynx Festival announces new award categories for 'Mobile' & 'PR'

The Dubai Lynx International Advertising Festival has announced two new award categories for 'Mobile' and 'PR'. The festival, which will run through 4-7 of March 2012, is the biggest festival for creativity in brand communications in the MENA region. The festival's awards ceremony will be held at the Madinat Arena, Madinat Jumeirah, on the evening of March 7th, 2012.

Dubai Lynx entries up 52%

The Dubai Lynx Awards, the premier awards celebrating creative excellence in MENA’s advertising and communications industry, has received a total of 2,068 entries from 21 countries, an overall increase of 52% versus last year. Entries have been submitted in 12 categories, including the newly launched Design category. 

Dubai Lynx juries announced

The 4th Dubai International Advertising Festival has announced the names that will make up the 2011 juries. A total of 28 jury members will come together in Dubai, where they will view the entries, deliberate and award the most outstanding work that the region has to offer. Divided into four juries and led by their jury president, they will judge a total of 12 entry categories; Design, Direct, Promo & Activation, Interactive, Media, Film, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Integrated, Print & Outdoor Craft and Film Craft.

Local creativity in need of even greater exposure in the Middle East

Business 24|7 reports that following this year’s Dubai Lynx event, which saw a 35% drop in participation yet still attracted over 1300 entries, it has been noticed that there is somewhat of a gap between advertising work presented at festivals and that seen on TV or in magazines, and that some of the work viewed was not familiar to the audience. Speaking to Emirates Business, Lance De Masi, President of the International Advertising Association (IAA), UAE Chapter, expected creativity in the region to achieve international standards in three to five years.


Dubai Lynx Awards tonight

Dubai Lynx's learning programme has ended last night with a pool-side party hosted by the Dubai Creative hub, and now the Dubai Lynx Awards is set to take place tonight at The Palladium, revealing winners across all nine entry categories. Winners of the Grand Prix; Network of the Year, Agency of the Year and Media Agency of the Year, will also be announced during the Dubai Lynx Awards Ceremony and dinner.
