TradeArabia reports that du telecommunications has announced a new broadcast services deal with Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) at Gitex in Dubai. This new partnership follows Turner’s launch of a regionally dedicated Cartoon Network Arabia channel earlier this month. The tie-up will provide broadcast services that will extend Turner Broadcasting System’s reach to the Middle East on two different satellite platforms, Nilesat and Arabsat Badr 6 Satellites.


Over 25% of UAE’s population on Facebook

Emirates 24|7 has reported that Facebook has around two million users in the UAE while Middle East accounts for 15 of the total 500 million users, Director of Market Development Randi Zuckerberg speaking at Gitex Global Leaders Summit on Sunday. She spoke about privacy and its priority for Internet social networking sites like Facebook, emphasizing on the importance of feedback from users for finding ways to best control it.
With UAE's population estimated to be at around 7.5 million, that would mean a little over 25 per cent or quarter of the population is on Facebook.
