Zawya preps for multimillion-dollar sale

The Middle Eastern business portal Zawya is expected to be sold in a multimillion-dollar deal that will be finalized next month. Several media companies are said to be interested in purchasing the site. Both Thomson Reuters and Emap & Pearson have expressed an interest in acquiring the website. If negotiations are successful, Zawya is expected to be sold within six weeks.

Zawya’s Ihsan Jawad steps down and board appoints Gunnar Skoog

Zawya’s Board of Directors has announced that co-founder and CEO of Zawya, Ihsan Jawad, has stepped down as CEO and will assume the position of Vice Chairman on the Zawya Board. The board has appointed Gunnar Skoog to be the acting CEO reporting directly to the board.  Gunnar will be supported by Jean-Marc Paufique as GM.
