Google, Amazon and Marks & Spencer have secured the top spots on YouGov's annual BrandIndex league table for 2011. YouGov annually measures the quality, value, customer satisfaction and reputation of consumer brands according to the input of 2,000 UK-based consumers.

According to recent statistics from Millennial Media, advertising impressions on iPad have registered tremendous growth despite the fact that Android retains the top position for most advertising impressions. Even though Android leads the pack in terms of OS, Apple topped the device manufacturer's chart with an impressive 23.09% share followed by Samsung and HTC.

Apple’s iPhone at an all-time high among other smartphone vendors

According to a survey conducted by UBS, Apple’s iPhone has an 89 per cent retention rate, the highest retention rate among its rival smartphones, and more than double than its nearest rival HTC, who’s retention rate is 39 per cent.  Only six per cent of respondents, who are current subscribers, said they intended to move to a different operating system, while four per cent said they were undecided, suggesting that the retention rate could even reach 93 per cent.

Google's Android dominates US smartphone market, Apple iOS in second place

According to a report from Nielsen, Google’s Android operating system (OS) now claims the largest share of the U.S. consumer smartphone market with 39 percent. Apple’s iOS is in second place with 28 percent, while RIM Blackberry is down to 20 percent.
