According to the latest 'World Connected TV Market Insights' report by research firm IDATE, the OTT market will surpass connected TV. According to the findings, the overall TV sector is facing a profound restructuring. The IDATE analysts predict that by 2016, OTT video services on connected TV will amount over two billion Euros, representing 17% of the total OTT market and 1% of the global fixed video services market.
Video market expected to grow at an average annual rate of 4% until 2020

According to a new research from Idate on the future of television, the global video market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 4 per cent between 2010 and 2020, despite the increasingly stiff competition traditional networks face. Idate also expects that new video services combined; fixed and mobile, will account for 10 per cent of the global video market in 2015 and 20 per cent in 2020.
