Al Arabiya news channel hosted a panel which focused on the future of media and telecommunications. Leading telecom addressed the pressing concerns of the industry at a roundtable moderated by Nadine Hany, senior business news presenter at Al Arabiya.

The Jordan Times has reported that in a panel discussion on the power of the Internet on the final day of the third annual conference for Arab Investigative Journalists, organized by Arab Reporters for Investigative Journalism, keynote speaker Tim Sebastian said advanced communications have shifted power from the hands of "those who have always had it" to those "who have never had it". For that reason, he explained, "professionalism is now more vital than any other time".

HRH Princess Sumaya Bint Al Hassan inaugurated the event calling for "developing a trans-border framework which aims at moving from consumerism to productivity, and building trust and cooperation through the region."
