According to AFP, a group of sixty Kuwaiti writers and journalists have urged their government to reopen Al Jazeera news channel’s office that has been closed for over two months now, following the withdrawal of its reporters’ accreditations over the coverage of a police crackdown on a public gathering. The Al Jazeera office was previously closed for three years from November 2002, reopening only after a visit by Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.
