In order to reach our goals, we’re looking to hire a Media Planner to join our rapidly growing LivingSocial Deals business unit, based in Dubai, UAE. The Media Planner role is responsible for optimizations within selling areas and leveraging consumer intuition to ensure LivingSocial delivers the best product and pricing mix to our customers.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and assess content suitability
• Gain an understanding of market values and optimal configurations to ensure quality
• Be able to use consumer behavior understanding as well as historical data as a decision making tool
• Gain a thorough understanding of the population and social scene through collaboration with local LivingSocial representatives
• Work with the local sales team to provide support
Skills
• Bachelor's degree
• At least 1 year of related work experience
• Working knowledge in marketing and/or advertising industry (preferred)
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to work independently, possess effective time management skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Familiarity with browser based tools preferred
• Demonstrate strong quantitative and qualitative abilities with a natural curiosity and a desire to learn
• Show a keen eye for detail and organization while being outgoing, friendly and high energy
• Posses grasp of social media
• Have a keen understanding of consumer value

LivingSocial Middle East says its registered users have been growing by 30% to 50% per month. Of these registered users, some were shopping online for the very first time. “With the exceptions of ordering food and apparels, which you have to try on, most other goods can be purchased without being present in a shop. And with rapid technological advancement, such as the use of Microsoft’s Kinect motion technology, even this could change,” said LivingSocial managing director Dan Stuart.


Web tracker Experian Hitwise reports a decline in web visits to daily deals websites Groupon and LivingSocial. Three online research companies Experian Hitwise, Compete and ComScore reveal the steady drops in traffic for both websites, due to new competing sites entering the market.

Reuters has reported that Facebook will shut down the daily deals business in the coming weeks. Daily deals business was launched four months ago and the decision has been claimed to possibly ease competitive pressure on industry leaders like Groupon and LivingSocial.

LivingSocial, the online source for handpicked experiences at a great value, today announced it has acquired GoNabit, a daily deal pioneer with a presence in four Middle Eastern countries; Ensogo, the market-leading deal site in Thailand and the Philippines; and DealKeren, an Ensogo company based in Indonesia. LivingSocial also introduced Daily Deals in the Netherlands.
