Only 36% of Twitter posts are appreciated

According to a study by researchers at MIT, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon and The University of Southampton entitled 'Who Gives a Tweet?',  merely 36% of Tweets are appreciated by followers. Participants of the study rated a total of 43,738 tweets posted by 2,014 users, and only liked 36% of all the tweets they rated. Meanwhile, they did not like 25% of them and gave the other 39% a 'neutral rating'.


Email turns 40 years old this month

MIT graduate Ray Tomlinson was able to send the first email message in October 1971, marking 40 years since the birth of Email. Tomlinson’s task was to allow messages to be sent between two different computers. The first message traveled a distance of one meter between two separate computers. One small step for a message, one giant leap for mankind.
