Following a competitive pitch against other publishers, Motivate Publishing have been awarded a new and expanded contract as the appointed publisher of Spinneys.

The current monthly magazine for Spinneys, Living in the Gulf, has been published by Motivate since 2000 but plans for 2008 will cover an increased number of publications which will enhance communications between Spinneys and their customers. Four new magazines will be launched during 2008 covering food, seasonal ideas, new products and outdoor living.

Commenting on the new agreement with Motivate, Spinneys CEO - Jannie Holtzhausen said 'Living in the Gulf has always been an important element in the way we at Spinneys communicate with our customers. In line with the growth in the number of Spinneys supermarkets, we plan to offer a wider choice of publications catering to our customers changing tastes and lifestyles. We are all looking forward to launching these new magazines with Motivate and continuing to work with them as our publishing partner.'

Ian Fairservice, Managing Partner of Motivate Publishing, said 'It's great that we will be working with Spinneys on these new and exciting titles and continuing our close relationship with the regions foremost chain of supermarkets. Spinneys took the lead in customer publishing through launching Living in the Gulf which remains today the only supermarket magazine in the Gulf. Internationally, the magazines of leading supermarkets have become recognised as influential media that reach a highly targeted readership and there is every reason to expect that Spinneys new magazines will follow this trend.'
