Microsoft has signed a deal with Baidu, the biggest search engine in China, to provide English-language search results — but they will be censored to meet the Chinese government's demands. The announcement of the deal is a boost to Microsoft, which has been struggling to boost the position of its Bing search engine against Google's dominance in almost every country around the world.

The Guardian reports that UK-based news and content provider, Independent Television News (ITN), is to open a new ITV News bureau in Dubai under its newly appointed international correspondent John Irvine. This new line-up will refresh the on-screen reporting and will improve longer-term newsgathering and ability to get teams on the ground for breaking stories in a wide area from Pakistan to Southern Africa, according to ITV News deputy editor, Jonathan Munro. ITN produces content for ITV, Channel 4, and online outlets such as YouTube, MSN, Telegraph Media Group, Yahoo!.
