Sky News Arabia has signed a number of distribution deals for extended coverage. Starting from May 6th, the subscription satellite TV platforms OSN and Abu Dhabi TV will broadcast the 24-hour Arabic channel in high definition (HD) region-wide. Meanwhile, Etisalat's eLife and du TV will carry Sky News Arabia in standard definition (SD) via their internet protocol television (IPTV) networks.

The Abu Dhabi-based broadcaster, a joint venture between Abu Dhabi Media Investment Company and British Sky Broadcasting, is preparing itself for its launch across the MENA region with 24 hour rehearsals. "With all of our staff now in place, we are really gearing up to launch. This challenging move, ahead of schedule, will test our resources - technical and editorial - to the maximum as we prepare ourselves for the task of running a 24-hour news operation. It's a very exciting time," said Nart Bouran, head of Sky News Arabia.
