Etisalat official Ali Al Ahmed and Director General of the National Media Council Ibrahim Al Abid have expressed interest on means of cooperation to best utilize social media platforms to deliver news and media content.

Reputation management will be in the spotlight this week as top international and local business leaders, media figures and public relations experts gather in Abu Dhabi for a two-day conference on the key trends and issues shaping communications in the Middle East.

WAM reports that a memorandum of understanding has been signed between Abu Dhabi Media Company, Sharjah Media Inc., Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat), and the National Media Council (NMC), to launch the TV Audience Measurement project (TAM). One company will be licensed to undertake and manage the project. National Media Council and the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority will regularly monitor fairness, transparency and confidentiality.

The National Media Council (NMC) and the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone Authority (TECOM) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to regulate the issuance of media licences in the media free zone.
The MoU states that TECOM should get approval from the NMC before issuing licences for any form of media whether in print, audio or TV.
